Stage 1 of 4: Measure

See every kilowatt-hour as it is used

Most sites learn their consumption once a month, as a single number on a bill — we clamp meters onto your incomer and your biggest loads and show you the load, hour by hour, so waste has nowhere to hide

412 kW Illustrative
  • 1 min logging resolution
  • 2 wk+ baseline before any change
  • ½ day typical install, no shutdown
  • 0 production stoppages

Figures on this page are typical or illustrative ranges from our method, not audited results for a named site — your own baseline sets the real numbers

The night baseload tells the truth

When the site is quiet, consumption should fall — a cold store never goes fully quiet, but the shape of the night tells us how much is real refrigeration load and how much is plant running when it does not need to

What the meters tell us

Load profile

Incomer and feeders logged at one-minute resolution across a full duty cycle

Night and weekend baseload

The most revealing single test: what runs when nothing should

Peak demand

Which loads create the peak, set against your tariff windows

Power factor

Reactive power and where correction is, or is not, working

Harmonics and imbalance

Phase imbalance and distortion that heat motors and cables

Compressor run and starts

Run-hours and starts per hour read from the current signature of each machine

How it is installed

  1. 01

    Scope

We agree which feeders matter — typically the incomer, each compressor, condenser fans and evaporator groups

  2. 02

    Clamp on

Split-core current sensors go on live cables with your electrician present — no shutdown

  3. 03

    Log

At least two weeks, so weekdays, weekends and a weather change are all captured

  4. 04

    Report

A load map, the baseline and a list of what is avoidable

What you receive

  • A load map showing which asset consumes what, and when
  • Night and weekend baseload finding, with the avoidable share
  • Peak-demand analysis against your tariff windows
  • Live dashboard access on phone and desktop
  • A written baseline that every later saving is measured against

From a meter on the wall to a saving you can defend

  1. 01

    Meter

Clamp-on meters on the incomer and the big loads — no shutdown, no rewiring

Output Load profile and a baseline

  2. 02

    Survey

A radiometric thermal camera finds hot connections, cold-line losses and leaking envelope

    Output Ranked findings with images

  3. 03

    Tune

Setpoints, sequencing, defrost and fan control corrected one change at a time

    Output Lower runtime, fewer starts

  4. 04

    Verify

The same meters run again — savings are measured against the baseline and normalised

Output A saving figure you can defend

Questions we hear first

Is it safe to clamp onto live cables?

Split-core clamps are non-invasive and do not break the circuit — work follows your site permit-to-work rules, with your electrician or ours present, and nothing is left exposed

Can I keep the meters afterwards?

Yes — under Continuous Monitoring the meters stay and the dashboard keeps running — otherwise we remove them after the logging period

Do you need access to our building system?

No — the meters are independent and report over their own connection — we only need power outlets and safe access to the panels

Why two weeks and not two days?

A cold store’s load changes with weekday throughput, weekend quiet and the weather — two days can mislead — two weeks gives a baseline that stands up

Book a free assessment

Find out what your plant is wasting

One call of about twenty minutes — we work out whether there is enough on the table to justify a site visit, and tell you plainly if there is not

  • Free first assessment, no obligation
  • NDA before the visit if you want one
  • We sell no equipment, so findings are findings
