Suction pressure
Reset against real load so the plant does not chase a colder evaporating temperature than the room needs
Stage 3 of 4: Correct
Refrigeration plant is usually commissioned once and never revisited — setpoints drift, controls fight each other and compressors short-cycle — correcting the settings needs no new hardware and shows up on the next bill
Figures on this page are typical or illustrative ranges from our method, not audited results for a named site — your own baseline sets the real numbers
Starts per hour is one of the best single indicators of how hard a compressor is being worked — good sequencing replaces a ragged on-off pattern with fewer, longer, smoother runs
Before: frequent starts12
After: fewer, longer runs3
Reset against real load so the plant does not chase a colder evaporating temperature than the room needs
Allow it to float with ambient within manufacturer limits, and set condenser fans to match
Stage machines to run fewer, fuller and longer — add minimum run and off times
Move from fixed timers to demand or temperature termination, retimed away from the peak
Slow or stage them when the room is at temperature to cut fan power and fan heat
Verify with measurement — both under and over-charge cost energy and stress the machine
Product temperature is the line we never cross — every change has an agreed limit, an alarm and a way back — if a setting does not pay, we revert it and note why
Read the controls, alarms and current setpoints — agree limits with your engineer
One change at a time, logged, within product temperature and manufacturer limits
Compare against the baseline with weather and load normalised
Settings documented and explained to your maintenance team, with a way back
Compressor life is governed by how often it starts, how hot its discharge runs and the pressure ratio it works against — every correction moves at least one of them the right way, which also lowers the risk of losing a chamber of stock
Clamp-on meters on the incomer and the big loads — no shutdown, no rewiring
Output Load profile and a baseline
A radiometric thermal camera finds hot connections, cold-line losses and leaking envelope
Output Ranked findings with images
Setpoints, sequencing, defrost and fan control corrected one change at a time
Output Lower runtime, fewer starts
The same meters run again — savings are measured against the baseline and normalised
Output A saving figure you can defend
Only setpoints, schedules and parameters agreed with your engineer — we never touch safety circuits, and every parameter is recorded so it can be put back
We stay inside the manufacturer’s published operating envelope — if a change needs their approval, we ask for it first
The gain is largest on cooler nights and across the long shoulder seasons, and smaller in peak summer — we measure it rather than assume it
Starts per hour and runtime change straight away — the verified energy figure follows once the reporting period has run
